The British Super 1 series arrived at Whilton Mill last weekend (4/5 July) and it's halfway point and saw another excellent performance from Luke.

Now settled in with Dean Panrucker's Millennium Motorsport team, Luke is also beginning to look like a serious title-contender for this year's KF1 crown.
In Timed Qualifying he was 8th fastest, in a tightly bunched session. Starting from the 4th row of the grid for the first heat, Luke wasted little time in moving up the order and opened his account with a fine second place.
In the following, fiercely contested encounter, he was 4th - enough to earn him POLE POSITION for the first of Sunday's two finals.

A strong and mature drive saw Luke hold his own in another race notable for it's typically British 'rough and tumble' style. Luke crossed the line in third place, to score yet more valuable championship points.
Team boss, Dean Panrucker was delighted, saying "That was a hard race. Some of the drivers really tried to bully and attack Luke but it's a sign of his developing maturity that he held his nerve and got another podium finish. I'm delighted with him."
If Dean was happy, Luke was about to make his grin even broader.
After twenty two thrilling laps, he secured a superb, last-gasp second place. Dean said, "He drove brilliantly! The whole weekend went well. Luke stayed out of trouble and did his job. We weren't the fastest but he concentrated and stayed relaxed. In both finals he made all the right decisions and moves, at the right time. I was impressed with his good, clean moves."
He added, "We're now at the sharp-end of the fight for the championship and looking to improve from here on in. It was a tough weekend (in terms of the on-track action) but his confidence is growing as a consequence of his continued success and as a result, it's looking good for the championship." |
