Terrific debut with new team yields brace of podium finishes at Rowrah.

The new partnership between Luke and Millennium Motorsport’s boss, Dean Panrucker bore instant fruit at Rowrah last weekend (6/7 June).
A steady start to the weekend saw Luke guide his Tony Kart/TM combination to eleventh fastest overall in Saturday’s timed qualifying session.
He followed this with ninth place finishes in the following two heats, earning sixth place on the grid for the first of Sunday’s finals.

It was a fantastic weekend. We’ve got off to a good start, and hopefully we can keep it up for the rest of the season. |
Dropping a place at the start, Luke settled himself and waited for the race to find it’s rhythm before beginning to pick his way up the order. An exciting dice with his former team-mate Ben Cooper was settled in Luke’s favour, as he crossed the line in third - scoring his second successive podium in the KF1 category.
Buoyed by his performance, Luke delivered another fine drive in the grand final to again take the chequered flag in third place and move himself up the Championship points table to fifth overall, just ten points off the series lead

Dean Panrucker was clearly delighted with his new signing’s performance, saying, “It was a fantastic weekend. Luke’s a lovely lad to work with and demonstrated that he can deliver the goods. We’ve got off to a good start, and hopefully we can keep it up for the rest of the season. It was a good experience for both of us, I know I enjoyed it.”
Luke said, “I’m over the moon with the new engine and chassis combination. I didn’t qualify particularly well, but we were able to put that right in the racing and run on the pace. I must thank Dean and his team for giving me great kit and the confidence to go out there and deliver such a strong start to our working relationship.”
Luke’s attentions will now turn to the fourth round of the Winning Series Karting Championship, at Genk in Belgium, this weekend (12/13 June).
It also marks his return to the JRP squad, with who he enjoyed a great deal of success in Europe last year.

“I’m looking forward to it. I know all the guys there so well and we’ve always remained in touch. In a way, it’ll feel like going home and after Rowrah, I’m fired up to give them a great result too.”

The event will start with free practice on Thursday and Friday, followed by timed qualifying on Saturday and the first series of eliminatory heats in the afternoon. The all-important finals will run on Sunday.
